Why Lori Ryan Wrote EVER HOPEFUL
By paulinebairdjones on July 23, 2014
Ever Hopeful is the first book in my latest series, the Evers, Texas Series. And, it’s also a book that was in my head for a long time waiting to get out. I came up with the idea one day out of the blue. I just thought, what if your worst nightmare ended, only to be replaced by another one? What if your abusive husband died, but you had to go on the run anyway?
That’s what happened to Laura Kensington. She had prepared to run from her husband, Patrick, when she gets the news of his sudden death. But, she quickly realizes his powerful family won’t let her leave regardless of his death. Not while she carries his baby. She finds a friend in an emergency room doctor who helps her run to a Texas ranch with a family tailor made to take her in and the book takes off from there.
The odd thing is, I don’t normally read books about abused women because they either include too many disturbing details (I have a very weak stomach for that kind of thing), or because they’re too sad. For some reason, this story just called to me and I had to write it. For those of you that tend to steer away from this kind of thing, I promise, there aren’t too many disturbing details and the book is uplifting and hopeful, just as it promises!
I’ve been thrilled to be in the Love on the Edge Boxed Set. I loved so many of the books in it and found a bunch of new authors I’m now not only friends with, but fans of! I hope you’ll grab it and find yourself some new authors as well!
