Will NaBloPoMo Heal My Concussion?

This weekend, I was officially diagnosed with my second concussion of the year. The first came when I slammed my head against the headboard. Metal.  And not in a good way. At all. That landed me in the ER on Christmas Eve. This second concussion is courtesy of being rear ended on Friday September 13 and includes a sprained back.

I've had a headache for two straight weeks so my writing has been haphazard. There are at least 11 drafts of very odd blog posts waiting to be published at Pittsburgh Lesbian Correspondents. I'll probably leave them be as the more resemble the ravings of a sleep deprived bitter middle aged woman than a thoughtful reflection on well, anything.

NaBloPoMo gives me a chance to write a brief focused post with a clear topic. I need that right now - both because I must strengthen my concentration and focus as well as maintain a schedule and routine.

My doctor told me that light brain exercises are useful, but I'm not to tackle any new clients or assignments just yet. So that 4 part treatise on the impact of poverty in the LGBTQ community will have to wait I suppose while I write about my favorite type of Halloween candy.

And, frankly, I'm grateful this exists and look forward to following doctor's orders so I can heal and step away from the frustration and anguish of not being "all there" right now.
