President Obama and Congress screwed up with the Keystone Pipeline, although all of them will probably change their mind because it’s an election year and none of them want to lose their jobs; we should still vote them all out anyway. If they decide not to back down on the Keystone deal they do have an opportunity to save themselves without it looking like - ‘it’s not all about me’.
The American Energy & Infrastructure Jobs Act, I think would create National Security, jobs, energy source and income for future development of other energy sources.
“The American Energy & Infrastructure Jobs Act (set to be H.R. 7) would link new American energy production to high-priority infrastructure projects. This common sense jobs plan would permanently remove government barriers to American energy production and use the revenues to repair and improve America’s roads and bridges – both of which support long-term job growth” The Natural Resources Committee
Next week The House will vote on the Act and a response will come from the President, he will either agree, tell them it’s not good enough or maybe he has come up with a better plan.
Timeline:
Feb 1, 2012 – Three bipartisan energy bills approved by The House Natural Resources Committee
Feb 7, 2012 - Bipartisan Letter was sent to Secretary Salazar with 182 signatures asking for consideration for drilling on the Outer Continental Shelf
February 10, 2012 - The House of Representatives next week will vote on the American Energy and Infrastructure Jobs Act (H.R.7)
Remember this when you’re deciding to support this Act:
The next time a politician states:
- Business are having a hard time hiring because of energy and manufacturing cost
- $4 a gallon of gas – there is nothing we can
- Family vacations will coast more due to energy cost
- Food and household good cost have increased due to gas and production cost
They have no solutions just excuses, excuses that don’t help American women or children.
Ask:
Where are the solutions?
Why are we not securing our natural resources?
Why do politicians demand that Americans pay the price for their lack of leadership?
Is it Green Energy/Alternative Energy?
Green/Alternative energy will take another 35/50 years to be developed into a long term solution according to most researchers.
There is nothing wrong with having National Security and economic stability while we develop future energy sources. Women need to demand that the small group of men and women making the decisions that are being influenced by lobbyist and money put Americans first.
