Friends play a huge part in our life, even at such a young age. I'm so grateful for all the friendships I have. I feel really blessed that my children are able to have each other as best friends. Yes of course they fight like normal siblings (ALL the time), but they truly love each other and have made so many fun memories over the past year. I love watching their relationship blossom....more
The boys and I were recently sent a copy of the animated classic The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh dvd and I love it for so many reasons!! Above all, it's good wholesome television in a world where that is pretty hard to come by. I don't have to worry about questionable content or viewing it first (which we often have to do--do movie ratings mean anything these days?!), I know it's going to be kid-friendly and up to our family standards of television, not to mention age appropriate (like really)....more
If anyone were to ask me about the first cartoon I remember watching, I would tell them it was Winnie the Pooh. I'm not sure if Winnie the Pooh was just the one that my parents picked for my brother and I to watch when we were little, or if that's just the one I remember best. I remember we would get up in the mornings, eat breakfast, get dressed and then watch Winne the Pooh until it was time to go to school....more
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh has always been one of my favorite movies. Even as a teenager I loved the characters and fun songs. Now that I am a mom, I love sharing the stories of Winnie the Pooh with my kids. No matter what their personality type is, there is a character that they can identify with, and even though all of the characters are different, they all get along and have a great friendship that endures through all of their adventures....more
We are huge fans of popcorn and a show. One of our favorites is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I've read the stories to my sweeties, but seeing the characters on screen is a total blast....more
Recently I had the chance to review Winnie the Pooh, now available on blu-ray and HD, (although I have to admit, we're so behind the times, we could still watch it on our VCR!) We don't ever watch regular tv around here, but we do stream movies an occasionally get them from the library, but it's been a long time since we watched Winnie the Pooh. I wondered how my kids would react....more
One of my favorite things about having two little boys so close in age is the seemingly instant friendship that comes through brotherhood. Hudson and Hayes are at the age where they play so well together, and they often refer to their brother as their best friend. This thrills me....more
We're big "pile o' books" people at our house. Ryan and I love to get cozy on the sofa or in bed with the kids and a fat stack of books. He and I especially like to entertain each other with dramatic voices for all of the characters (Oliver occasionally kibosh's this, but it rarely stops us!). Reading is one of our favorite ways to connect with our kids - to grow their imaginations and to invite new characters, adventures, friendships and silliness into our home....more
As a child I remember going to my grandparents' home and watching our favorite Disney movies on VHS. Many of them in Black and White... Now that I've grown up, well I'm supposed to be a grown up, I've tried to bring a lot of things from my childhood to my children. Although we don't have a VHS player we do have a DVD & Blu-ray player and my kids really love to watch Disney movies....more
This last weekend while doing hair, Boo and I spent the majority of our time speaking about summer camp. This is the first year that she's been old enough to attend and she's been having a blast. I remember when I was younger and how much I loved camp and meeting new people. Listening to her go on and on about all the new friends she's made and all of the fun things she's been doing has definitely brought back memories....more
