Women’s Milestones Online

Women have been involved in the Internet for decades. Our contributions are many. They are born out of an ethnically diverse and multi-talented group experience.  Do we know who our digital diva pioneers are? What are our milestones online? How are we documenting, sharing, and celebrating the diversity of our Internet herstory?

This session will feature a panel discussion that provides an overview of women’s milestones online including digital diva pioneers. Examples of how women are documenting and celebrating the diversity of the Internet’s herstory will be shared.  Takeaway tips that can be used to identify and document women’s contributions will also be offered.

Ananda Leeke (http://twitter.com/anandaleek) will serve as the moderator.  Panelists will include Shireen Mitchell (http://twitter.com/digitalsista), Aliza Sherman (http://twitter.com/alizasherman), Jen Myronuk (http://twitter.com/Jenmyronuk), and Tery Spataro (http://twitter.com/tery). Aliza, Jen and Tery founded the Women’s Internet Project (http://twitter.com/womensinternet and www.facebook.com/womensinternet#!/womensinternet?v=info).e
