Am I crazy?  Maybe so.

Unlike most mommy bloggers I work full-time outside of the home.  I guess I am one of those people that try to add on another hat to keep the rest of them from falling.  Recently I did not receive a promotion that I worked very hard for.  I know I deserved the promotion so it was hard when I received the news.  However, I believe all things happen for a reason and it has fueled my fire.  I am still giving 100% at work by day but, I have also decided to step up my blogging at night.

Sounds easy enough, right?

So I get off of work, pick up children, go home, let the dog out, start cooking supper, put in a load of laundry, suppers burning, fire detector going off, salvage meal, forgot to put soap in the washer, back downstairs, soap in the washer, feed family, let the dog out, answer the phone, clear off the table, do the dishes, get the kids a bath, blow dry hair, put on PJ's, [steps in pee] let the dang dog out!, clean up urine, get kids one last drink of water, read a story, say a prayer, turn on the music, tuck them in, kisses and hugs goodnight, change the washer and dryer, "where's the dog?", let the dog in, pick up any remaining toys or clothing, answer the phone, go out and water flowers, back into the house, "what's that noise?" [water running], run to bathroom, toilet overflowing, hand Husband plunger [insert "the look"], remind hubby to take out the trash, fold a load of laundry, go potty since I just remembered that I haven't peed all evening, get comfy PJ's on, sit down at the computer, forget everything I just got done doing and write something people can relate to... done.

I think every mother can relate to this post!

How do you juggle your daily life?  Do you work full time outside the home too?

When I went back to work full time after my second maternity leave, I had to make up some time - as in, literally, make it up.

Create it from nothing.

So now I get up at 5:15, shower and am in front of the computer by 5:30. I write my post, (pictures are usually taken on weekends or in the evenings as life happens), mainline my coffee, and by 6:30 have got the toddler up and on the potty and am sitting down to nurse the little guy.

Breakfast is around seven, and we're out the door between 7:30 (a good day) and 7:45 (a less good day).

My husband gets home around five and starts on dinner, which is usually planned in advance but sometimes isn't (bad day), and I walk in the door with the kids at around 5:45, depending on whether I had to coax my daughter away from daycare or not.

They go down between seven and seven-thirty, and after that my husband and I clean up the kitchen, pack the bags and our lunches for the next day, do laundry (cloth diaper wash - argh!) and get the coffee and oatmeal ready to start the next morning.

Then - if I'm lucky - we sit down together for a little while before my brain stops functioning at around 9.

I don't really like my life the way it is now, but it's working.

If only I could invent the 27 hour day...

Love this post, great visual. I too work outside the home and blog by night and have many similar experiences which keep me laughing and smelling a bit foul.

Hi Jenna,

Thanks for pointing that out. I was by no means saying that I work harder than anyone else or place a certain title on anyone. I wrote this article to try to find more mommies like me and get feedback from the moms who are in different situations. Most of the blogs that I read are from mothers like you that work full-time in the home (which I'm sure is more difficult than what I do with all the distractions in the home that I mentioned in my blog).

I was hoping every mom would be able to relate to some of my distractions and share their own. That is why I asked the questions "How do you juggle your daily life?" and "Do you work full time outside the home too?".

I appreciate the feedback and I will be more careful with my words in the future. I never imagined someone might take offense to that sentence (big mistake on my part).

Have a great mommy day!

I'd be careful with your assumption in that first sentence. Most of the blogs I read are written by moms who work outside of the home, since when I first started parenting I needed to find other moms who understood what I was going through. A large chunk of the other blogs I read are written by moms working full time from their homes -- like me. So I work all day and blog on my own site at night. Unless a kid has woken up crazy early and gone back to sleep, and then I toss something up.

We all create and fumble with our own schedules, no matter our work "titles" and locations.
