In Johannesburg, South Africa, Spain defeated the Netherlands to win the 2010 World Cup! More than a billion people watched as these young men fought passionately doing exactly what they love to claim a 1-0 victory against Holland.
Do you, like these very chiseled and fine-looking soccer players, spend your days doing what you are passionate about? If an extremely talented soccer player can turn a passion into a business (ie: sponsorship opportunities), then it’s only fair to assume that you can turn your passion or hobby into a business as well (chiseled or not). The entrepreneurs within the Butterfly community live this dream everyday.
Tips for budding entrepreneurs:
Know Your Work: Research and understand the demand of your product or service by holding focus groups in your home or by emailing out a survey to your existing network.
Overhead: Consider online versus traditional brick and mortar to sell your wares or start off by showcasing your work at home.
Service: Lack of customer service= lack of business. Enough said.
Networking: Essential to grow or launch any business. Reach out to friends, family, previous colleagues and you will earn the right to use the cliché, “and they tell two friends and so on and so on.”
Reach out to the following entrepreneurs within the Butterfly community who have all managed to turn their passion into a profession and heed their advice:
- Sandy Quast: Co-host and Creator of an online talk show
- Kelly Suchy: Adoption Coach/Educator
- Maureen Jaret: Cupcake Business Owner: Wholesale/Retail
- Rebecca Barkai: Online Boutique Owner
When you achieve your goals in business and in life you will feel like you’ve won a World Cup of your own! Now that’s a score.
Best,
Bradi and Terry
