World Literacy Day
By tasteful on March 05, 2013
- One thing that I wish I knew about when I was in elementary school, were spelling Bee's. I would have loved to participate in one of those. I may have sucked at math and science but reading and English came to me much more naturally.
- Opening a book was also a great escape into another world. Whether fantasy or just being in another part of the globe. I don't get to read as much as I'd like these days but when I do, I'm thankful that I don't even think about my ability to read, most of the time.
- Did anyone else have a parent who told them to look up the word they were having trouble spelling, in the dictionary? I never understood how I was supposed to find a word if I didn't know how to spell it in the first place. But I guess I knew enough because I always did find the correct spelling in the end.
- My participation in World Literacy Day, is reading more than a chapter at a time. I love reading and I will find guilt-free time to do it!
