I have a blog, Wallet Mouth, about ethical consumerism. Recently, a company that I blogged about (in a positive light) a few months ago approached me to ask if I would write a post on their upcoming blog in exchange for a linkback (no pay). The subject would not be about the company but about its general field, and I would basically be a guest blogger representing an independent voice. It sounds like their blog will feature content both from independent writers about this field and from company employees and users of its service.
My question is, Is it worth it for me to do this? I'm hesitant about writing for someone that I've blogged about, especially since my own site is a lot about ethics. I don't want to raise any appearance of a conflict of interest.
Any thoughts?

Hmmm...
i don't see anything wrong with you writing a guest post on a blog that covers a topic of interest to you and your readers. of course, anytime you do that, you'll have a bio that will have your other blog listed.
you'll just want to make sure that it's clear to their readers that you are indeed a guest blogger, that your views are your own, not the companies, and that your post hasn't been edited or touched by the company in any way.
if you're still in doubt, you can take the matter to your own readership and let them help you process it in a transparent way. and if you still feel bad about it, you're best off following your intuition and leaving the matter alone.
