X-Ray Tech Develops New Career Helping Kids

Even the most established careers can suddenly vanish. That's what happened to graduate Maureen Petengill. However, her unexpected change was the start of something better and more fulfilling.

"I was working as an X-ray tech or 22 years and got laid off. It was the perfect opportunity to go back for college at Kaplan University. I did my Early Childhood Development externship working with 3- to 5-year-olds. When a position became available, eight people were interviewed. I got it!"
