You Are Enough
Kick off your shoes. Get a fresh cup of coffee and get cozy. Lean in because I want to tell you something that you need to hear.
Centuries of women have struggled with it. Society tries to devalidate it. Satan loves to lie to you about it.
Here it is:
Pimples, stretch marks, insecurities, hormones, sins, the whole shebang.
Nothing can separate you from the love of God. (Romans 8:38-39) Amen for that, right!?!?
Let me translate: nothing you could have done or will do, can separate you from the love of God. No label you put on yourself can alter His affection for you and all the garbage society communicates to you will not change how He delights in you.
You are enough.
We're all going to sin and fall short. Thank you very much, Eve. His grace, however, covers it all. That's the good part of the story. We don't have to do anything more. He's taken care of it.
We are enough because HE is enough.
This was challenged for me recently, as a much younger mother announces she's pregnant with number two. As the neon "I'm infertile" sign flashed above my head, I contemplated several different reactions, most of which made me question if I would have still been enough.
Luckily, I paused long enough, for my husband's answer, and then God's grace poured out of me with a simple nod and an approving smile. That's all I had.
Those next moments were filled with lies straight from the pit of hell nagging at my healing heart. God's still small voice whispered into my soul, that I am indeed enough.
If this sinner saved by grace is enough, then sister, you have reason to celebrate.
Relax back into that comfy lazy boy I picture you sitting in, take a look out of that big picture window, smell that fresh cup of coffee and soak in the aroma of your approving Father snuggling you like your favorite afghan, reminding you that you are enough.
Let me say it again: You are enough!
Before you get up out of this happy place, take a moment with the Lord to soak in the glorious riches that He has for you and allow Him to take delight in His most prized creation.
You are enough!
