How To Prepare for #BlogHer20 Health

by SHE Media Partner Network’s Alexandra Nicole, Influencer for City Chic Living
My name is Alexandra Nicole, Influencer for City Chic Living, and I am a huge fan of #BlogHer events! I try to attend as many of their events annually as I always am able to improve my blog, make valuable connections, and meet new friends! In my experience from attending the conference there are definite ways to prep ahead of time to make the most of your event! Here are a few tidbits to think about that will help you prepare for the big weekend!
Confirm Your Travel

Dressing comfortably
Of course as bloggers we always want to look our best, especially at networking events, but being comfortable is also extremely important for the experience. I always wear a great pair of slimming, black ponte pants with cute and comfortable slides. Sometimes I pair it with a super cute top and other times I will wear an oversized button up with a fun belt. Think business style with a classy yet fun twist! And don’t forget a jacket in case it gets cold!
What to bring to network
Business cards are a must but if you really want to stand out in the crowd, have your media kit handy and be sure it is printed on quality paper! You would be surprised at what a good sturdy resume, or media kit in this case, can do for first impressions.
Make sure your devices are charged
Nothing is worse than not being able to capture the moment. I have been a blogger for 7 years and I still cannot learn how to keep my phone charged! I always make sure to pack an extra, fully charged battery pack so that I do not have to stop for “juice.” There is so much going on at #BlogHer and stopping means you could miss something!
#BlogHer also always has a recharge lounge at their events, which normally has outlets and cords to charge your devices. Definitely take advantage of that… but bring your own chargers just in case the lounge gets overcrowded.
Arrive early to get your badge and secure your seat
Of course there are tons of fabulous speakers at every #BlogHer event. I have learned that arriving at least 10 minutes early to grab a seat for your favorite speaker could mean the difference of the front row versus the back!
Plan Your Day
I always create a schedule for my day before attending #BlogHer. There are so many private events, activations, networking opportunities, and important speakers. In my calendar I prioritize my day by the hour so that I have accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish out of the event!
Set A Goal
When I get to #BlogHer, I quickly peruse the sponsor groups and take note of which brands will fit with my blog. Then I write their name on a separate envelope, each containing my media kit. After I have heard the opening speakers, I will head on out the meet the sponsoring brands and spend extra time with those that I know will make a mutually beneficial partnership.
Meet members of the SHE Media Partner Network
Being a partner with SHE Media has meant that I am truly part of the team! I have met tons of the SHE Media staff who have always leant a helping hand to further my brand and optimize my platforms. Spending time meeting to meet SHE Media staff that I have not yet had the opportunity to chat with, as well as other SHE Media blogger partners, is so important to me. This is truly a family of which I feel a part of. We all love spending time with the fam right!?
In closing, I am super excited about this weekend and I hope to meet you at the event! Please, feel free to come up and introduce yourself and let’s share best practices. Exchanging business cards/networking is one of my favorite things about the blogging business! See you at the show!
