Kaye Bassey is an entrepreneur and creative in the fashion and beauty space. She will be speaking at BlogHer Health LA happening May 20th, 2022 on the creator economy. Kaye will be sharing tips and advice on how to level up your influencer status, expand your brand and diversify your revenue status.
Ahead, Kaye who is also a member of the SHE Media Collective, shares what inspires her as a creative entrepreneur.
Tell us a little bit about your blog
I started my self-named fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blog Kaye Bassey many years ago- which helps individuals live and grow in the best version of themselves. But now, my content can be found across many different platforms, including my blog.
What inspired you to start your Blog?
I always wanted to work in the fashion and beauty space. However, I wanted to have it be my creative outlet while I studied business at the university and later pursued a career in Medical Devices. Towards the end of university, I decided to focus on it more.
Are you a full-time creative or entrepreneur?
Yes, I am a full-time creative entrepreneur.
What’s one shocking insight you gained from owning a blog?
It was shocking to see the amount of work and involvement it takes. I think one really has to love it! Also, the number of opportunities that have come about was definitely unexpected for me.

What are your go-to productivity tools?
I love to use Airtable for planning, scheduling, and remaining organized. I also use Google sheets and the Preview app. And I never underestimate the value of a good old pen and paper.
What do you do for fun when you’re not creating content?
I like spending time with friends & family. I also enjoy exercising, painting, listening to music, and relaxing.
What’s your current favorite book, podcast, or website?
I have been into true crime lately. I would have to mention Eleanor Neale.
What are you looking forward to for the rest of the year?
I’m looking forward to being able to travel more. That would be amazing!
