Onyi Azih Inspires Women to Let Go of Perfection

Onyi Azih describes herself as a mom, lifestyle blogger, and full-time entrepreneur. However, in addition to the many hats she already wears as a creative and businesswoman, she is also a psychiatric assistant with a mission to raise mental health awareness.Â
Ahead, Azih who is a member of the SHE Media Collective shares about her work in the neurodiverse community and why she inspires women to let go of perfection.
Tell us a little bit about your blog Sincerely Onyi
I am a Houston-based psychiatric physician assistant and the woman behind the wellness, motherhood, and lifestyle blog, Sincerely Onyi. I love to share how I balance family life while practicing medicine and building my business. I am passionate about mental health awareness, and my mission is to bring acceptance to the neurodiverse community. I also enjoy helping busy women balance life beautifully. One of the many aspects of my job that I love the most is inspiring women to let go of perfection while taking full advantage of all that life has to offer.
What inspired you to start it?
I initially started my blog because I wanted to share my experience as a physician assistant. At the time, I couldn’t find anyone else like me that was sharing their stories. That’s when I got the inspiration to create an informative and relatable blog for the next young black woman to resonate with. There was a bit of an evolution that happened with my blog transitioning into wedding planning and eventually a motherhood blog when I was experiencing postpartum anxiety and seeking an online community.
Are you a full-time creative or entrepreneur? If not, what else do you do?
Yes, I am a full-time entrepreneur, and I also practice as a psychiatric physician assistant.
What are your go-to productivity tools to help you stay focused and motivated throughout the day?
A day does not pass where I don’t check Asana or Google Calendar. These productivity tools are amazing resources that help me stay organized. I also rely on my personal assistant to organize my responsibilities and important reminders.
What’s one shocking insight you gained from owning a blog/running a business?
A shocking insight I’ve gained was a personal revelation that once acknowledged, had changed my life. Before starting my business, I had the preconceived notion that I was lazy due to my undiagnosed ADHD. In reality, I would rather work 24/7 on something that I’m passionate about.

What are you looking forward to in the coming year?
