What 3 things does anyone starting a blog need to know?

Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will your blog! However before going live we would suggest that you create a blogging schedule and write and schedule blog posts for several months before you publicly launch. Do lots of research on SEO before you start and network with other bloggers by attending conferences.

What recommendations do you have for driving traffic to your blog?

We find creating and following a social media strategy is extremely helpful. Also writing all of your blog posts with good SEO is so important. 

Which social media platform do you prefer?

We love Pinterest in terms of driving traffic and interacting with our followers on Instagram and Facebook.

You blog about your amazing vacation destinations. Which has been your favorite so far?

It is hard to choose, but Beaches Turks and Caicos and Disney Cruise are two of our favorites!

Ten years is a major milestone – and a lot of blogging! Where do you draw inspiration from for your content?

We blog about issues and topics that we are experiencing in our own lives. We are both Moms of teens so that is bringing us lots of new content lately.

What’s your go-to weeknight 30 minute recipe?

This Easy 3-Ingredient Ritz Cracker Chicken is a great tasting kid friendly recipe that’s ready in 30 minutes!

What advice to you have for moms who are running a business while parenting?

Set office hours and stick to them! This is a lesson we learned the hard way. It is easy to work 24/7 when you own your own business. Several years ago we made the decision that we would only work from 8-3 pm while our kids were in school and it has been the best decision we ever made for our kids. 

What’s been the most rewarding part of your blogging career?

There have been so many exciting things in our blogging career. We wrote Savvy Saving: Couponing Secrets from Stockpiling Moms which was published in January 2012, We have hosted 5 conferences for our readers, we have taken amazing trips and have had amazing experiences with our family because of the blog. Helping other Moms would be the most rewarding.
