Dara Pollak, Founder, Skinny Pig NYC: Dara Pollak is a born and raised New Yorker, classically trained dancer, and professional writer. Dara started the Instagram account @skinnypignyc (90K+ followers) in 2014, attracting the masses with her sarcastic, witty humor and unapologetic honesty in tackling topics like depression and PTSD. A former ad sales and marketing executive, Dara now operates The Skinny Pig Inc. full time as a social media consultant and content creator. She is a recipe developer and brand ambassador for FreshDirect, and has made appearances on Thrillist, ABC, CBS, Zagat, Tasting Table, and more.
Remy Park, Founder, Veggiekins: I am a vegan holistic nutritionist, recipe developer and food blogger at Veggiekins. The origin of my blog and social media platforms was my journey to healing an eating disorder and mental health issues. I initially used my Instagram platform to log meals to share with my psychiatrist daily, and it soon grew to become a recipe resource, and community for healthy eating and living well. As the community I connected with grew, I started to incorporate more of the wellness expertise I was able to share from yoga, to herbalism and healing plants. 3 months into my first corporate job, stress and lack of sleep contributed to a return to ED behavior, addiction and substance abuse. I quit my job to heal, and have since taken Veggiekins full time and have created a successful, thriving business.
Samah Dada, Founder, DADAEATS: Samah Dada is the founder, recipe developer, and photographer for her food Instagram and health and wellness-focused food and travel blog, DADAEATS. She grew up in Newport Beach, California and spent four years in London, England where she first became enamored with the intersection of food, travel, and culture. After studying Media and Public Policy at UC Berkeley and solo-traveling through Europe, Samah pursued her dream of moving to New York to join the prestigious NBCUniversal Page Program. She has worked full-time in broadcast television production at the TODAY Show where she is also an on-air food contributor. She is the host of her own digital cooking show, a TODAY Show original series called #COOKING with @DADAEATS. She started @DADAEATS with the goal of sharing her culinary endeavors, food adventures, and passion for creating indulgent yet healthy eats with her audience.
