Just 11 Female Solopreneurs to Inspire Whatever You’re Working On

New words enter our lexicon every year. “Solopreneur” is one of them. Sounds cool, right? I think it has a nice ring to it. But if we’re going to keep it all the way real, “solopreneur” is just a fancy word for someone who runs a business on their own. That isn’t to say the act is unimpressive. Dreaming up a project, launching it, and sustaining it without a huge team (or any team, for that matter) isn’t a linear journey. It takes a stubborn commitment to not giving up and business savvy to navigate the inevitable ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
I don’t know what you’re working on. Maybe it’s a business idea you’ve been ruminating on for years but have no idea how to start. Perhaps you’ve been hit hard by the economic downturn of the pandemic and need encouragement to keep going. Plus, there’s the ever-lingering reminder that being a woman entrepreneur comes with its own set of roadblocks. Whatever the case, our monthlong BlogHer Biz series featured a band of female solopreneurs whose advice and mere existence could be the spoonful of sugar that inspires you to keep going.
Keep scrolling for the 411 on these standout bosses, some of which will be dishing entrepreneurial advice during our last BlogHer Biz event on October 23. If you haven’t already, register (for free!) here and replay the ones you may have missed here.
