Tell us a little about yourself and your blog!
My blog, Live Learn Lovewell, is a site devoted to adventurous, healthy, and happy living! I first started it in 2015 when I decided to go sugar-free for a month. I wanted to document the ways in which I was choosing to eat healthier, and make smarter choices. I began by posting a lot of sugar-free recipes, and then it kind of evolved over time.
I grew up on Martha's Vineyard, MA, with incredibly creative parents. We always had a vegetable and flower garden in the backyard. My mother often cooked homemade meals for us, and we spent a lot of time outdoors. Living in NYC for the last 11 years, I've really started to appreciate that kind of homegrown lifestyle that I had while growing up. It's been fun trying to incorporate that kind of living as much as possible in my NYC life.
I am currently a fitness instructor for Peloton teaching cycling and strength. I live in an apartment in Brooklyn with a backyard garden full of vegetables and flowers.
What is a typical day in the life?
Depends on what my work schedule is, which is different every day. Twice a week I teach early in the morning so I am out of the house by 6 or 7 AM. My day usually involves teaching one or two cycling classes at Peloton, meetings with our producers to plan upcoming classes. We have a lot of responsibilities outside of what people see. From marketing/brand meetings, to managing social media, photoshoots, music meetings, and strength seminars.
I think of my home as my oasis. I love to spend time in my garden. I cook a lot, and create content for my blog. I also try to attend about one or two events a week, for brands and new product announcements.
What workout are you into right now?
Well I'm definitely biased, but I just launched a 4 week core program at Peloton. Its called Crush Your Core. There is a 5 to 15 minute core-focused workout every day, and the workouts get increasingly more difficult as the program progresses. It just launched last week, and the feedback has been wonderful! I'm doing the program as well, and it definitely kicks my butt every day.
What are your hobbies outside of wellness?
I have a lot of hobbies... I love to paint, watercolors specifically. I play the piano. I take voice lessons which I love, not because I'm particularly good at it, but because it brings me joy!
How do you make time for yourself?
I use Google Calendars religiously, and literally have to schedule in an hour here and there for "me-time."
What do you indulge in?
Ice Cream. Specifically Blue Marble Ice Cream in Brooklyn.
What is your favorite social platform and why?
Instagram because it is so visual, and allows me to connect with so many people.
What would you do differently if you were starting as an influencer or blogger today?
Honestly, it seems like its even harder to get started today than it was a few years ago. I don't think I'd do anything differently.
What 3 things should A blogger or influencer know starting out?
Make valuable content that you find interesting.
Care less about what other people are doing
Find the things (hobbies, interests, talents) that you love and could talk about every single day. And then do that! Don't force yourself to talk about something or do something that you don't find fun or interesting.
What is the most underrated piece of advice for up and coming bloggers and influencers?
Connect with your audience! People ultimately want to feel heard and seen, and if you include them in your story and content, it will encourage more people to get involved. We ultimately want community, so how can you create a community within your story?
