5 Trending Social Media Challenges to Try

If your Instagram feed is anything like mine, that means you are probably seeing LOADS of social media challenges. With so many going on (and so many ‘grammers with tons of time on their hands), it can be hard to tell which are actually worth executing, and which are a passing phase. Ultimately, they are all in good fun, so it is totally up to you and what you feel fits your brand. Plus, no one has ever been mad a bout an adorable puppy pic! We’ve put together a list of some of our favorites that seem to be sticking. Try ‘em out and let us know what you think!
the push up challenge
This one has been ALL over Instagram. Friends, family, and celebs alike are challenging one another to complete a set of 10 push-ups — then pass it along to their friends and followers. If it is good enough for Jennifer Hudson, it is for sure good enough for us. Stop, drop, and get those quarantine endorphins going!
Quarantine Kitchen Suggestions
This one is for the foodies! Cooking experts are taking to socials to help self-quarantined folks come up with inventive ways to use the canned goods they’ve stocked up on! Chrissy Teigen offered followers a chance to tag her in a picture of their pantry — and promised she and her team would come up with a fun recipe based on the photo. If you’re a food blogger, this could be a great way to generate some engagement — and test your own recipe inventing skills.
See-a-Pup, Share-a-Pup
Give your pet the platform they deserve. Snap a pic or post an oldie (the “rules” are flexible) and tag some friends to post theirs, too! If you don’t have a pup, get creative — we’ve seen everything from cats, to babies, to neighbors. Tag us @blogher so we can see!
Social Distancing Fill-in-the-Blanks
We have the lovely @leahferezan to thank for these pretty pastel templates that are sweeping your stories! Basically, you post the template to your story (don’t forget to give Leah a tag), then fill-in-the-blanks with emojis, GIFs, or type the answer of your choosing.
We’ve created our own influencer fill-in-the-blanks, as well! Tag a few social media accounts you love and check out how they’re spending their days of social distancing — and what they’re planning to do afterward, as well!

Flip the Switch TikTok Challenge
If you’re not on TikTok yet, what are you waiting for? We’re talking hours of quarantine-entertainment here — and it’s not just for tweens anymore. You may have seen the iconic vid of Elizabeth Warren and Kate Mckinnon flipping the switch — a trend straight from TikTok’s “For You” page.
