‘The Comeback Edit’ Just Landed on Pinterest—Here’s What You Should Know

Between May 2020 and May 2021, searches for “how to support small business” on Pinterest increased by 50 percent. The visual discovery engine has always been a destination where small business owners can leverage their work but the devastating impact of the pandemic on this industry inspired Pinterest to amplify its efforts even more. This summer, they’ve collaborated with American Express for “The Comeback Edit,” a curated hub of over 20 small business merchants, the majority of which are people of color. According to a press announcement, “Each product was selected for those who are planning their ‘future me’ and how they want to show up in the world as it begins to slowly reopen.”

It’s also a way to help businesses recover from the COVID-19 crisis. According to a study conducted by American Express, almost 50% of small business owners are concerned about their profits as customers resume travel this summer. The silver lining? 75% of consumers within that same study say they would shop at small businesses more if they were given more options to do so. Enter this easily accessible, highly searchable digital shop.

If you’re not heavily immersed in the world of Pinterest, this is actually the sixth edit to come of out The Pinterest Shop, an initiative started back in 2019, specifically for supporting small business owners. Since then, they’ve supported over 150 merchants (and counting). While we don’t know the specifics of how these brands are chosen, this should be encouraging news for all of the creators and small business owners out there. Pinterest is a place where users want to support you and with the number of tools being rolled out to the platform, there are so many ways you can promote yourself in a way that’s truly unique to you.
