We know you probably made your Q1 plans for 2022 months ago, but that doesn’t mean you can’t adjust on the go. HubSpot just released their Social Media Marketing Report and it’s a treasure trove of creator trends you’ll want the inside scoop on. After surveying over 300 experts about everything from top social platforms to content strategy, they compiled their insights into a free, downloadable document that will be fun to revisit at the end of the year. Will all of their predictions come to pass? Only time will tell.

Most-Used Social Media Platforms
The usual suspects top this list but their order may surprise you. Facebook has the highest ROI and engagement, while YouTube comes in second. It’s also the number one platform marketers plan to invest in this year. Those are followed by, in order of ROI/engagement: TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Popular Content Types
Content is king but only a few types reign supreme. “Content that reflects your brand’s values” is the most popular right now, followed by funny content, interactive content, and relatable content, all of which the surveyed social media marketers plan to leverage this year.
When to Post on Social Media
According to HubSpot’s report, “73% of marketers say their company has a posting schedule or calendar for social media marketing.” In general, experts in Eastern Standard Time agreed that 6PM-9PM is the best time range for posting, while those in Pacific Standard Time prefer 3PM-6PM. They also gathered the best posting times according to social media platform:
