Facebook Just Launched a ‘Social Good’ Website for Businesses

Facebook, much like it’s sister-platform Instagram, is getting into the holiday spirit with a new website designed to give back to the business community. Yesterday, the platform officially announced the launch of it’s new Social Good for Business site. Here’s what we know.
According to Facebook, the site’s mission is to “give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Facebook knows that social good is inextricably linked to that mission, as we build products and services for businesses to advance meaningful change that lasts.”
2020 has been a banner year for the emergence of mission driven companies and businesses – and consumers are paying attention to those who fall in line, and those who fall short. Businesses who have chosen to act rather than shying away from taking stances and hoping this whole “demanding transparency and action thing” dies down, are reaping the rewards of doing so – and the creation of this site by Facebook suggests that it’s here to stay (hopefully, for good.)
So how exactly does Facebook define “social good”?
According to their site, “social good can look different for every business, from companies whose business models are entirely focused on it, to companies with more recent Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. No matter what path companies take on the road to social good, they’re embracing a universal truth: social good is good for everyone. It’s good for the economy, relationships with customers, the community and for your business.”
In essence, Facebook’s Social Good for Business site was designed to help mission-driven companies, however big or small, take the next steps necessary in order to make that happen. It’s meant to be a source of inspiration, resources, programs, and more that will help you and your business hone in on their mission and implement a plan to get there.
