TikTok Launches Automated Messages for Business Accounts

Easily overwhelmed by DMs (that’s “direct messages” for the social media newbies)? TikTok has a solve for that—at least if you have a business account. There’s no amount of creative video clips that will keep some followers from asking the same questions over and over; think “what are your hours?,” “do you work with influencers?,” and “where can I get (insert product)?” With TikTok’s auto-reply for direct messages, you’ll be able to answer those oft-repeated inquiries without disrupting your day.
For those with Business accounts, here’s how it works. Simply go to “Message Settings” in your Business Suite, and create a reply. You’ll also need to choose keywords that will trigger the bot to send an automated response. Of course, you want to put some thought into this. When used correctly, auto-replies can help maintain connections with your consumers and point them in the right direction.
On the other hand, automated messages can create confusion if they don’t properly address what the person seeks, so do your research before confirming how you’ll proceed.
According to Social Media Today, all automated messages must be reviewed by TikTok‘s moderation team before going live to prevent misuse and other safety concerns. Industry insider Matt Navarra recently shared what the new feature looks like on the backend:

Auto-replies are already being rolled out to TikTok business accounts so expect to have it in the coming days or weeks.
