How to Apply for TikTok’s Black Creatives Incubator Program

When it comes to innovation and creative resources, TikTok has been on a swift roll. In less than a year, the Tik Tok Creator Fund, Small Business Resource Center, and just-launched question-and-answer feature were made to enhance and support its most popular and inventive users. If all of that weren’t enough, the TikTok for Black Creatives incubator program promises to make 2021 a landmark year for those accepted into the program.
In partnership with the multiplatform media company MACRO, TikTok’s three-month initiative will provide grants to a select group of creators and music artists. The money can be applied toward anything related to content development, including production equipment and educational resources.
Those accepted into the program will also have access to “motivational town halls with some of the biggest, most successful Black entrepreneurs and celebrities…community-building forums and educational events with TikTok executives.”
MACRO will handle advising on the selection of speakers and other content related to the program perks. “Black creators on TikTok have been a driving force for our community, from starting trends to fostering connection to introducing new ways to entertain and inspire others, and we’re committed to continuing to elevate and amplify their voices,” said the social media platform in an announcement.
Ready to pull up and apply?
- Go to the TikTok for Black Creatives homepage.
- Create an original video, sans third-party music, of up to 60 seconds long. It should embody who you are as a TikTok creator. Whether it’s a compilation or single video, it just needs to spotlight your personality and creativity.
- Click the Apply Now button, where you’ll be prompted to enter the basics (name, date of birth, contact info, TikTok username, follower count, content category) and upload your video. As far as we can tell, there is no minimum follower count requirement.
- Submit by January 27, 2021. Finalists will be announced in February.
Good luck!
