TikTok Just Launched a Q&A Feature That Looks Promising

TikTok is the new kid on the social media block but its rapid growth is already on par with seasoned competitors. So much so, that one of the biggest trends to emerge in 2020 was other platforms creating tools that mimic what TikTok is so great at—entertaining short-form video. Now, TikTok is capitalizing on its success yet again with a new Q&A feature that will undoubtedly encourage creators to build community and get serious about expanding their reach (if they haven’t already).
According to screenshots shared by social media analyst and commentator Matt Navarra, creators can add a question-and-answer button to their profile. This will allow fans/followers to submit questions that can be answered later in a live stream or via video reply.

As you can see, the Q&A icon is a rectangular speech bubble with a question mark in the middle.

And if you’re the creator accepting questions, the answer icon is bright red with a camera symbol, making it hard to miss.

According to Social Media Today, “profile visitors can also see the list of questions asked of a creator and Like each as a form of voting for which queries they also want to see addressed.”
The benefits of a Q&A feature for the creator and their community is obvious. For one, it encourages you to utilize TikTok more, which is also a win for the app itself. Plus, a dedicated space for this type of connection means you don’t have to always engage on the fly—you can be more thoughtful about when and how you create content on this particular platform.
As of today, we don’t know if this update is available to all TikTok users or in testing mode but we have a feeling this feature is here to stay.
