Get Ready to Tweet for the Holidays

The 2020 holiday season was bleak for many, and understandably so. Outside of keeping our mere sanity, the latest TV obsession or sports game rarely dominated the conversation. Things are a bit different this year. With (hopefully) the worst of the pandemic behind us, it’s starting to actually feel like the holidays, especially on social media. And Twitter is already seeing some traction around certain holiday 2021 trending topics, and sharing ways that creators and entrepreneurs can use them to “connect and drive ROI.”
For example, you may want to start creating threads and polls around your favorite TV shows and movies (hi, Hallmark), as “Twitter is already taking off with a huge+268% YoY movie conversation in the US and a +525% YoY increase in movies + TV conversation in the UK.”
Now is also the time for fashion and beauty brands, or influencers, to start “tweeting about gift guides, beauty kits, beauty advent calendars, and seasonal collections” since fashion and beauty topics, in general, are seeing a YoY (that’s year over year) increase in the Twittersphere.
Small business conversations are also dominating feeds (up +64% YoY in the US and +55% YoY in the UK) which means you can start dreaming up holiday hashtags, product updates, and more around your ventures.
The full report also includes insights around food and drink, adventures and travel, as well as tips and inspo for small business owners. Happy tweeting!
