#BlogHer18 Welcomes Christy Turlington Burns, Global Maternal Advocate, to the Mainstage

Motherhood and the discussion around motherhood has long been a tenant at our BlogHer conference series, and we are excited to announce that Founder of Every Mother Counts, global maternal health advocate, and model, Christy Turlington Burns, will be joining us on the #BlogHer18 mainstage. 

She’ll be in conversation with NY Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for a deep look at the state of women’s health around the globe and maternal policies within the US.

At BlogHer, we believe that turning personal struggle into content is one of the most empowering acts a woman can do, and after experiencing a childbirth related complication following the delivery of her first child in 2003, Christy was compelled to direct and produce the documentary feature film, No Woman, No Cry. The film explores the challenges and solutions that impact maternal and infant health around the world.

We’re beyond lucky to add her voice to the lineup, and we expect her conversation with Kirsten will push the boundary, challenge the status quo, and leave us all with a sense that there is more we can do to champion women around the world.
