Panel Announcement: Platform For Good

BlogHer Health 2019 is just one week away and we’re excited to announce a panel that you won’t want to miss! One of the strongest themes at BlogHer Health is the the mission to celebrate women who use their platform to normalize important conversations around women’s health. Today, we’re announcing one of our midday panels on the main stage, Platform for Good. During this panel, you will hear from women who are using their authentic voices to build community and raise awareness around health and wellness issues that affect women everywhere. These women have a microphone and they aren’t afraid to use to it to share their stories to ensure women know that they aren’t alone in their heath journeys.

Moderating this session is Angela Manuel-Davis, a Motivational Coach, Soul Cycle Master Instructor and Founder of AMDIO Method. With an emphasis on the power of influence, she will lead a candid discussion with Jaime King, Actress, Entrepreneur and Activist, and Lee Tilghman, the founder of lifestyle and wellness platform, Lee From America. Both have been extremely open about their health journeys and at BlogHer Health, they will dive deep into how they’ve managed to use their platforms for good.

Moderator: Angela Davis: Angela is an International Fitness Evangelist and motivational coach. As a former USA Track and Field Team Member, Angela was a five-time All-American and ranked in the world in the 100 meters. Angela competed professionally for Nike and was an Olympic Trials semi-finalist and a member of the World Championship team. Currently named as one of Oprah’s SuperSoul 100, Angela can be found teaching her sold out classes at SoulCycle West Hollywood. In 2017, Angela was the inspiration for the film “I Feel Pretty” starring Amy Schumer, which she also starred in. Angela has created the AMDIO Method which promotes lasting change from the Inside Out. Angela lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Jerome and two sons, Edward and Lorenzo

Jaime King: Jaime King began her career as a fashion model landing covers for top international fashion magazines and later landing advertising campaigns for Armani, Calvin Klein, Victoria’s Secret and Jay Z’s Rocawear clothing line. With her charm and all-American mass appeal, King is known for her roles in both television and film. King most recently starred in ESCAPE PLAN 2 as the female lead opposite Sylvester Stallone, in June of 2018.  Next up, King will star in the indie drama CUTMAN from producer-director Michael Mailer, starring opposite Ray Liotta, as well as in Netfllix’s highly-anticipated series “Black Summer.” King has taken her creative endeavors to new heights working on a number of collaborations in fashion and beauty. Most recently, she launched a capsule collection with For Love & Lemons. In 2016, King launched a cruelty-free, vegan makeup line with ColourPop cosmetics “Alchemy by Jaime King x ColourPop” which sold out within hours of its launch. Throughout the years, King has managed to reach success across so many verticals including entertainment, fashion, and beauty. King is currently preparing for her next feature film roles.

Lee Tilghman: Coming from a long line of chefs, both by profession and by passion, Lee has always been extremely passionate about eating healthy, life-giving foods. She has been involved in almost every aspect of the industry, from WWOOF’ingon organic farms to helping open up restaurants, including Soho’s premier market to table restaurant, Chalk Point Kitchen.  Now, Lee lives in Los Angeles, where she is a recipe developer, speaker, author, workshop leader, smoothie drinker, and daily hiker. She is also extremely passionate about helping women find the confidence to make healthy choices and feel empowered to live their best lives.
