Calling All Voices of the Year Nominations for #BlogHer19 Creators Summit

Each year, we celebrate the writers, activists, filmmakers and change-makers who are using their platform and medium to make the world a better place. The heart and soul of our mission comes to life with our Voices of the Year Awards (#VOTY), which pays tribute to the women who are paving the way for others by using their voice to shine light on issues they care about most. At past #BlogHer events, we have been proud to honor some of the most remarkable women of our generation, including Jameela Jamil for her work with I Weigh to inspire women and girl to re-evaluate how they weigh their self-worth, Chelsea Clinton, New York Times writers, Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, who broke the Harvey Weinstein story, all four founders of the Women’s March on Washington, Tarana Burke who founded the #MeToo Movement, Cleo Wade, Jordyn Wieber for her work to raise awareness on sexual assault in competitive gymnastics, and so many others whose tireless work continues to improve the world for the better each day.

This year, we are continuing the #VOTY legacy to recognize work that deserves to be heard, seen, read and shared. We are looking for members of the BlogHer community who use their authentic voices to inspire and empower us all. We are seeking honorees who have used their platforms to create impactful work in the past year through written work, film, activism, literature, digital platforms, music and more. The #VOTY Awards will recognize women who have produced tangible and meaningful impact through content to join the ranks of change-makers.

If you would like to submit your own work or nominate another influential voice, we are now accepting a variety of published work including blog posts, articles, novels, podcasts, photography and video here. Please note that nominations for the #BlogHer19 Creators Summit Voices of the Year will close on August 16th 2019 at 11:59 PM ET. Kindly note, only ONE submission per person.
